I literally do not know how anyone can look at today’s Democratic Party and think “wow they are really competent and looking out for my best interest and I should vote for them”.

AOC, Pelosi, Schumer, Omar, Whitehouse, Harris and Biden are the faces of their party. How can you look at any of those people and think “I want them to run my life.”

Conversely, I can look at the Republican Party and see people like DeSantis, Rand Paul, Ted Cruz, Joni Ernst, Greg Abbott, Tim Scott, etc., and these are all very sane and measured people. The difference is staggering.

You don’t have to particularly like each of those people or each of the decisions they’ve made, but as a whole, they are very brilliant and sane and there isn’t a Democrat who could hold a candle to any of them.

Anyway, that is my advice to anyone running a campaign. You simply talk about liberty and personal freedom and control of your own life and that of your children. Keep it simple, stupid.

I am literally the “college educated suburban white mom” that the Republican party has lost and needs to get back. I can say what is bothering me the most is overstepping into how my children go to school. Forcing masks.  Forcing vaccines.  

Talk freedom.

There is really no reason at all to try to articulate a difficult or complex message. Personal freedom. Talk that. Over and over.

That's no surprise, since most educators are on the political left. As for the politics of historians, I think it's safe to say it's likely that a sizable portion of historians are also left-of-center. Given the groupthink that dominates the politically-engaged left, it would be quite difficult to find an American progressive who wouldn't adamantly insist that Nazism should retain its right-wing classification. Revisiting Waco

REVISITING WACO Not geographically, but in memory by Les Govment 160 views  It was a crisp autumn day in 1984 when I first met Jimmy Riddle outside the entrance to a church in Waco, Texas. As I approached the entrance, he greeted me and introduced himself. Shortly thereafter we found ourselves engaged in conversation. We had gotten so caught up in the conversation that by the time we were done, the church service inside was coming to an end. Jimmy told me he was a member of the Branch Davidians, who were split into two groups at the time. One group-- which Jimmy was a part of-- followed David Koresh and were staying in a house in Waco. The other group was loyal to George Roden, son of the Davidians' founder. Roden controlled Mt Carmel Center, which was the Davidians’ residential and church property, just east of Waco.
