EXAMINING TRANSGENDER
Is the word "transgender" actually a misnomer?

I have no reason to doubt that Gender Dysphoria is real. But being transgendered is another matter-- I do have reason to believe that being transgendered is not a biologically-based condition in most of the people who identify as trans.
The commonly-claimed aspect of being transgendered is that such a person is living in the body of the opposite sex.
If being in the body of the opposite sex is biologically possible, it seems to me that it would likely involve a person’s hormonal balance essentially being reversed from what is normal for said person’s biological sex– such as a male with a really low level of testosterone or a female with a really high level of testosterone.
But I have never heard a trans-person or anyone in the medical profession claim that trans-persons have a hormonal imbalance. So, what causes a person to be trans? Do transgender people actually have the brain of the opposite sex? There might be some cases like that, but the increase in the number of people identifying as trans in recent decades– and especially in recent years– indicates that transitioning is, to a large degree, a fad of sorts. Also, the current push to normalize transitioning is largely based on incomplete and faulty science, agenda-driven pop psychology, and political correctness.
Evidence that transgender science is faulty has been provided by the testimony of many gender dysphoric individuals who had sex re-assignment surgery and hormone injections, only to eventually become distressed over the choice they had made. At that point, the only option for these people was to undo as much of their transitioning as possible and learn to live with the loss of the healthy body parts that had been removed. Certainly, the doctors who steered these gender dysphoric people into transitioning deserve an enormous part of the blame for the tragic results.
There are indications that most people who claim to be transgender did not end up that way because of biology. Case in point: A well-known cable news host interviewed a trans-person who actually had an identical twin sibling. As is the case with identical twins, they were both born the same sex. Being identical twins, the only way that one could be transgender and the other normally-gendered (referred to as cisgender by some) is if the trans twin ended up that way for psychological reasons that were not rooted in biology. (Of course, there's also the possibility that the trans twin simply decided to present as the opposite sex.)
Biological Reality
There are two important points about the topic of transgender that need to be made (the first one is irrefutable fact):
1) Transitioning from one sex to the other is biologically impossible.
2) The word transgender doesn't accurately label what it purportedly applies to: a person with the genitals of one sex and the brain (or mindset) of the opposite sex-- which isn't a transitional condition.
If there are people who were actually born with the brain of one sex and the body of the other sex, they have my sympathy-- completely. But it would be more accurate to classify such people as intersex-- even if an intersexual condition wasn't detectable at birth or during childhood. (Note: intersex is a term that applies to people who have biologically-produced traits of both sexes or have other serious biologically-based sexual development disorders.) In view of the two numbered points I presented above, I've concluded that the term transgender is, in fact, a misnomer. There is no such thing as being born transgender. Concerning sexual development, a human being can be born only one of only three possible ways: male or female or intersex. (Note: Only a tiny percentage of people are born with a biologically-based intersexual condition.)
Of those who identify as trans, how many were actually born with an intersexual condition? We might never know, but current evidence indicates that intersex persons are no more than a small percentage of people who identify as trans. In any case, there is evidence that there is a growing transgender fad.
The Trans-fad
It is a fact that a faction on the Left is pushing a Gender Confusion Agenda (they don't call it that, but it is that). One of the worst parts of that agenda is the Trans-fad, which has not only snared adults, but has victimized children, too. There are parents, and teachers, who now believe that a small child should be allowed to choose his (or her) gender, sometimes trying to justify that based on what toys a child plays with.
What the heck are parents and teachers like that thinking? How can a five-year-old be expected to make a medical diagnosis that doctors can't even be relied on to correctly make? Children should be cultivated like plants in a garden, not left to grow aimlessly like weeds in a field. Letting a child choose his (or her) gender goes beyond parental irresponsibility; it's psychological abuse.
It should be illegal for doctors to administer hormones (for the purpose of transgendering) to minors; ditto for performing sex re-assignment surgery on minors; ditto for administering puberty blockers.
Shame on the doctors who do those things. Hippocrates would be disgusted.
Those in the media, the medical professions and education who support the Trans-fad are enabling the psychological abuse of children. Shame on them.
Shame. On. Them.
On Behalf Of The Victims
I am sympathetic toward those who struggle with Gender Dysphoria, and I also have sympathy for anyone born with a biologically-based sexual development disorder. I do not consider people with such problems to be responsible for the Trans-fad. And I hope they can avoid making the huge mistakes that others have made.
So, why should normal, healthy, everyday people be concerned about the Gender Confusion Agenda and the growth of the Trans-fad?
First, as I have already indicated, the Trans-fad has clearly enabled bad parents-- and feckless parents-- to put their children at risk of permanent psychological harm and at risk of ending up with permanently mutilated bodies.
Secondly, the suicide rate among trans-persons is quite high-- about 40%.
Thirdly, functional, successful societies are built around the natural gender binary. The Trans-fad is, in reality, an affront to the gender binary, not an adherence to it.
If the Trans-fad continues, it will produce more suffering and regret for those who get caught up in it. The fad will also produce much confusion and suffering for the children who are sacrificed to it by their parents. And if it continues unchecked, the Trans-fad will also eventually become quite corrosive to society (it's already disrupting girls'/women's sports).
The present and looming consequences of the Trans-fad provide clear moral justification for us to speak against it. Indeed, we must speak out against this harmful fad on behalf of its victims and would-be victims. //
