Persecuting Trump

PERSECUTING TRUMP

Some of you may have noticed that in recent months I have warmed up to Governor Ron DeSantis. At this point, amongst viable candidates, he's the best POTUS candidate, IMO. (Note: I would prefer a libertarian candidate, but candidates nominated for President by the Libertarian Party just aren't viable.)

I have also stated that Trump lost me when he started trashing DeSantis and lied about conditions in Florida.

Having said all of that, I find the charges against Trump and the 18 in Georgia to be troubling-- especially the RICO charges. Fulton County DA Fani Willis is really twisting the RICO statute, in my opinion.

I can't read the hearts of the 18 defendants, but I expect that some of them-- like me-- were genuinely committed to stopping Democrat dominance over America.

I truly believe that Democrats cheated in the 2020 presidential election. I even put up a header banner on my Twitter account stating, "Democrats Cheated."

We all know there were voting irregularities in several states. We all saw Trump's numbers go down in the wee hours.

We all saw poll workers covering windows to prevent witnessing vote counting. We all know at least one state changed election law in violation of the Constitution. We all saw ballot boxes being moved around in the wee hours.

Nobody knows if the cheating swung the electoral vote from Trump to Biden. But I don't see anything Trump or his team said or did as being criminal. Were some of them clumsy? Yes. But that doesn't justify the charges against them by the DOJ or Georgia DA, Fani Willis.

People in government need to stop doing politically-motivated impeachments and indictments. Such maneuvers are divisive and are not accomplishing anything good for the American people. //
